Les Abiri sont originaires du Luango (maluangu) et furent envoyés à Enconge en 1759, lors de la fondation de ce presidio. Ils ont d'autres usages et coutumes, sont actifs, travailleurs et intelligents, et ont en horreur l'esclavage entre eux.
